Median OnlyFans Pay Is Not a Salary. Neither Is the Lambo.

A dashboard screenshot with a five-figure month is not an offer. It is the tail of a distribution. If an agency shows you a top page and stays quiet about the median on its own roster, it is selling someone else’s month.

Platform numbers, not landing-page numbers. In fiscal 2024 Fenix (the company behind OnlyFans) took in about $7.22 billion in gross fan payments and paid creators $5.80 billion — the same 20% cut it has charged since 2016. Registered creator accounts: more than 4.6 million. Divide payouts by accounts and you get a mean of roughly $1,250 a year. The median, on the same skew, sits much lower — industry write-ups often put a typical account around $180 a year. The top 1% take about a third of all payouts.

That is not “OnlyFans doesn’t work.” That is OnlyFans working like a lottery with a very fat tail. An agency does not cancel the distribution. It takes its share of what is left after 20%.

Take a hundred dollars a fan actually paid.

• OnlyFans keeps $20.
• $80 remains.
• An agency on a 50/50 after the platform takes $40. You take $40.
• If $15 of ads is carved from your $40, the card sees $25.

A “70/30 in your favour” looks decent until ads, software and “ops” sit in front of the percentage. For four years I have asked partners to draw that chain, not the percentage in the deck.

2026 industry round-ups still put typical management commission in the 20–50% range of the creator’s share, depending on chats-only versus traffic and brand. Contracts the BBC saw in June 2026 went as high as 70% to the manager. “Standard 50%” is not a safeguard. It is only the most common place the haggling starts.

Two “averages” people mix on purpose

Surveys of adult creators who already work in the industry often show five-figure yearly totals. That is a different sample: people who answered a questionnaire, often with an audience already. The OnlyFans register also includes dead pages, one-day tests and accounts that never made a dollar.

When someone says “the average creator pulls $5k a month,” ask whose creators. The agency roster? The top 10% of the platform? The median of 4.6 million accounts? The answer changes the conversation.

What to ask instead of a Lambo screenshot

• The roster median for the last quarter, not the top page.
• How many models sit on one chatting team.
• Who pays for traffic, and whether there is a cap.
• Whether payouts hit your account, not “via the agency.”
